Pricefx alternatives
Six platforms teams evaluate against Pricefx — what each is genuinely best at, where each falls short, and how to tell which problem you actually have.
← All comparisonsWhy teams look for a Pricefx alternative
Pricefx is a capable, cloud-native price-management platform, and most teams evaluating alternatives are not unhappy with it — they have outgrown the slice of the problem it covers. Two themes come up repeatedly in published reviews. The first is the licensing model: price setting, optimization, quoting and rebates are separate modules, so covering the whole waterfall means buying and integrating several. The second is configuration — reviewers consistently report that most logic ends up custom-built, with a steep learning curve and an implementation partner involved.
Both are the trade-offs of a highly configurable platform rather than defects. But they shape the question worth asking before you shortlist anything: is your problem price management, or is it what happens to price after the invoice? Most platforms on this list answer only one of those.
The six alternatives
Vendavo
Best for: Large manufacturers with mature deal-desk processes
Deep price optimization and guidance heritage, strong CPQ-led quoting, and a mature implementation ecosystem.
Where it falls short: Rebate & Channel Manager arrived through the 2022 Market Medium acquisition and is licensed separately from the pricing suite, so gross-to-net spans module boundaries.
Zilliant
Best for: Distributors with very large SKU catalogues
Genuinely deep optimization science — segmentation and long-tail pricing where transaction history per item is thin.
Where it falls short: Its published product line covers price setting, optimization, quoting, agreements and sales insight. There is no rebate, chargeback or gross-to-net product.
PROS (Conga)
Best for: High-volume dynamic pricing and quoting
Long-proven AI pricing science at high transaction volume, now paired with Conga’s contract lifecycle and document automation.
Where it falls short: The B2B business changed hands twice in under six months — Thoma Bravo, then Conga in February 2026 — so the combined roadmap and two overlapping CPQ lines are still settling.
Vistex
Best for: SAP shops needing broad programme administration
Very broad go-to-market programme coverage — rebates, promotions, royalties, channel programmes — with deep SAP roots.
Where it falls short: Most commonly deployed inside SAP, and reviewers consistently cite the SAP GUI screens, a steep learning curve and limited customisation.
Model N
Best for: Pharmaceutical and high-tech revenue management
The established specialist for pharmaceutical gross-to-net, chargeback processing and government-pricing compliance.
Where it falls short: Sold as two industry products, life sciences and high tech. Outside those verticals it is not the product being sold, and reporting is the most-cited weakness in reviews.
SmartRevIQ
Best for: Teams whose leakage sits between pricing and incentives
Pricing, discounts, rebates, chargebacks, promotions and agreements on one data model, with always-on detection and ERP write-back as native condition records.
Where it falls short: Not a fit if you need statutory government-pricing reporting, or deep CPQ-led quoting for a very large field sales organisation. Those are specialisms we do not target.
Disclosure: we build SmartRevIQ, so we are not a neutral party and have listed ourselves alongside the rest rather than pretending otherwise. The strengths and limitations above are drawn from each vendor’s published product documentation and from customer reviews on G2, Gartner Peer Insights and TrustRadius. Judge our entry on the same terms as the others.

How to narrow the list
If the problem is price setting
Vendavo, Zilliant and PROS are the closest like-for-like comparisons. All three do optimization science well; the deciding factors are usually catalogue size, deployment model and how much of the logic you want to own.
If the problem is programme administration
Vistex covers the widest programme scope, particularly in SAP estates. Expect the SAP-embedded user experience and a configuration project to come with it.
If the problem is pharmaceutical
Model N is the specialist for regulated gross-to-net and government pricing. Outside life sciences and high tech it is not the product being sold.
If the problem is the gap between them
When margin leaks between the price you set and the net revenue you keep — off-invoice discounts, rebate accruals that never match actuals, chargebacks paid against stale contract prices — that gap sits in the seam between two systems. That is the case SmartRevIQ is built for.
